Things are looking a little different in Austin this year! On March 3rd, we gathered at the SXSW Center for an exclusive pre-event update from the Austin Chamber. SXSW CMO Peter Lewis and Austin Tourism CEO Tom Noonan shared the blueprint for what is shaping up to be the most unique festival in our city's history.

🏗️ The "Clubhouse" Shift

With the Austin Convention Center currently demolished for redevelopment, SXSW has officially pivoted to a Clubhouse Model. Instead of one central hub, the festival will be distributed across various iconic venues throughout downtown.

Key Changes for 2026:

Condensed Timeline: To keep the energy high without a central "home base," the event is now a high-impact, one-week experience.

Venue-Centric Programming: Each venue will act as its own themed "clubhouse," creating a more intimate, neighborhood-style atmosphere for attendees.

Focused Spotlight: The committee highlighted massive tracks in Robotics & AI, Space Tech, Climate Resilient Residence, Technology, and City Planning.
