Austin Homes and Rental: Celebrating Our AISD Summer Interns

Summer is wrapping up, and so is a program we are proud of, our internship partnership with Austin ISD.

This summer we hosted two high school seniors, one from Anderson High School and one from Akins High School, as summer interns working on social media and sales lead generation for Austin Homes and Rental.

The Highlights

- A two way partnership with Austin ISD. This internship gave AISD's practical education program a real business setting, and gave two high schoolers hands on experience solving real problems. As a local business, we are proud to help power that kind of hands on learning in our own community.

- Fresh perspective, real results. Working with two motivated high schoolers reminded us how fast trends move and how important it is to act on them quickly. Their input helped us build a social media strategy and a set of principles for keeping our content steady and consistent, work that is already shaping what you see from us online.

- A capstone project to remember. To close out their internship, our interns put together a mini project, a proposal for a capsule hotel concept in Austin. A creative, forward thinking idea from two students who spent the summer thinking like real estate professionals.

Why This Matters to Us

Austin Homes and Rental exists to use housing as a way to connect people and community, and to help make Austin a better place to live. Partnering with local schools to give young people real world problem solving experience and a hard work ethic is exactly that mission in action. We are proud of our interns, proud of our partnership with Austin ISD, and proud to be part of this community.
